Loping Hackamore without Headstall

Product Description

This little hack is made out of 4 or 5 strands of our 1/4″ halter cord, to form a 3/4″ – 1″ diameter noseband. Your noseband can be made from either our soft, double braid rope, or a stiff halter cord, and will come ready to add to your own headstall. Headstall pictured does NOT come with this set- if you want to choose the loping hack fully set up, see our other listing.

For your rein options, choose from either a 1″ flat brad (same great rope we use for all of our leads and reins- it just doesn’t have a ‘core’, so is braided flat instead of round) OR our traditional, round rope. You can choose the split rein option (pictured) which will be a 16′ continuous rein, tied in to form about a 7.5″ split rein. Or, if you prefer a mecate, I can do that as well, with our double braid rope. It will be standard 22′ length.

When sizing, you want this hackamore to be on the snug side. If your horse’s muzzle measures 22 inches, chose the 23 option- as that will be the actual opening of the noseband. The size of the noseband itself will vary based on the reins you choose- a mecate takes up MUCH more room on the noseband than the flat braid does, so it has to be braided to accommodate. So, keep in mind- the size you choose for the muzzle will be the actual opening size- so measure your horse accordingly. Also be aware that these will be a bit snug when they come- but they will loosen a touch as the reins tighten down and you use it, so don’t be alarmed if it feels snug at first.
