Here we offer your traditional ‘Sport’ and Mecate reins. Spot reins are great for those that love the feel of a rope rein with slobber straps, but don’t want the extra lead rope- OR, if you like the traditional mecate, we have those too! A standard mecate is 22′, and a good rule of thumb with your sport rein is to expect to lose a foot- so if you order the 10′ length, by the time you tie them on to your slobbers you’ll end up closer to 9. Always size up, as they’re adjustable.
All of our reins are made from our premium, 9/16″ double braid polyester rope. These reins will come backspliced on both ends, with leather poppers. The mecate rein will have one end weighted, with a longer, lead rope length popper.
